Terrain is a new monster type for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters card game created by LHK. These monsters have a dual-colored frame, with a graphite-like color on the left, and green on the right; they are stored in the Extra Deck.

Terrain Monsters have Levels and, for their Summon, they require a monster and a card in your Field Zone (can be either a Field Spell Card or a monster that became a Field Spell Card or even a Field Trap Card in the FCG) to be sent to the Graveyard to Terrain Summon that monster.

Traits[]

  • When Terrain Summoned Terrain Monsters are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while they are Terrain Summoned using a Field Spell Card (and/or Field Trap Card in the FCG) and it is in the Graveyard, they place that Field Card from the Graveyard to your Field Zone, and force it to activate if possible (Field Trap Cards must be Set first, so they are Set to the Field Zone instead, and therefore cannot be activated the turn it is Set).

Examples[]

Rulings[]

  • When a Terrain Monster is destroyed and you are going to place from your Graveyard a Field Spell Card, that is not considered an "activation", thus cards like "Magic Jammer" cannot stop this action. Also, that Field Spell Card must be in your Graveyard in order for this ability to activate.
  • Question (by Lyris): Let's say a Field Spell used for a Terrain Summon leaves the Graveyard, and is sent there again by different means. If that Terrain Summoned monster is destroyed and Graved after that, will the Field Spell material be placed onto the field?
    Answer: No.
