Spatial (スペーシュル Supeeshuru; displayed as Spt on Japanese cards) is a new monster type for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters card game created by Lyris1064. Spatial Monsters have a bright, hot pink frame and are stored in the Extra Deck, and they cannot be sent to the Graveyard by any means. Spatial Summoning can be conducted by banishing a monster(s) on the controller's side of the field using a mathematical operator on their indicator and ATK and/or DEF. This operator is located on the bottom-left corner of their artwork. Each operator in a Spatial Summon can only be used once per turn.

Spatial Summoning can be conducted by banishing a monster(s) on the controller's field that are listed on the lore of the Summoned Spatial Monster, including a monster with lower ATK or DEF-- the maximum difference is said Spatial Monster's Dimensional Number x 100; in addition, the Levels/Ranks of the Space Materials must exceed said Spatial Monster's Dimensional Number. If a Spatial Monster(s) would be sent to the GY, except if sent there from being banished, they are banished, instead.

The Spatials' indicator is called a Dimensional Number and it's different from other the indicators (Level, Rank, Wavelength, Hierarchy, etc.) because it's formatted differently: #th Dimension. Dimensional Numbers are centered on the card in the form of purple spirals inside pink orbs. When subtracting indicators for a Spatial Summon, their Dimensional Number becomes a Dimensional Negative Number, and those are formatted like this: Negative #th Dimension. Negative Dimensions look like pink spirals inside green orbs. When the Dimensional Number or Dimensional Negative Number exceeds 13, one of these orbs will be enlarged, and the number is put inside of it in a similar manner to an Evolute Monster's Stages.

Spatial Monsters change between Origin and Altered states instead of becoming face-down in the Monster Zone, of which changes at least 1 of their properties-- between Attribute, Type, ATK, DEF, and effects. Players can start the duel with either of a Spatial Monster's 2 Spaces in the Extra Deck, but it is still limited to 3 copies between the Extra and Side Decks, regardless of which Space is used.
Whenever a Spatial Monster with a positive Dimension would be sent to the Graveyard, they lose 1 Dimension instead. Whenever a Spatial Monster with a Negative Dimension would be sent to the Graveyard, they gain 1 Dimension instead. If the Dimensional Number would reach 0, the monster is banished. Spatial Monsters cannot be Tributed until this can happen.

Spatial Pendulum Monsters
The operator for Pendulum Spatial Monsters is located to the top-right of their artwork instead. They do not have the trait that makes them lose Dimensions because they are sent back to the Extra Deck face-up instead of going to the Graveyard. These monsters can be Tributed for the same reason. Most Pendulum Spatial Monsters have this effect: If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can destroy as many cards in your Pendulum Zones as possible (min. 1), and if you do, place this card in your Pendulum Zone.

This is the information page for Spatial Monsters in real life. For Spatial Monsters in YGOPRO, see the Category for Spatial Monsters.

Spatial (スペーシュル Supeeshuru; displayed as Sptスペーシュル on Japanese cards) is a new monster type for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters card game created by Lyris1064. Spatial Monsters have a bright, hot pink frame, and are stored in the Extra Deck.

The Spatials' indicator is called a Dimensional Number and it's different from other the indicators (Level, Rank, Wavelength, Hierarchy, etc.) because it's formatted differently outside of the Japanese OCG: #-Dimensional (#次元) to refer to specific Dimensional Number. The Dimensional Number is centered on the card, and they look like pink spiral-like galaxies inside light blue orbs on Origin Spatial Monsters: Dimensional Number. The Dimensional Number on Altered Spatial Monsters look like light blue spiral-like galaxies inside red orbs: Dimensional Negative Number

Spatial Pendulum Monsters

Most Spatial Pendulum Monsters have this effect: If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can destroy as many cards in your Pendulum Zones as possible (min. 1), and if you do, place this card in your Pendulum Zone.

Examples

Rulings

 • If a Spatial Summon is negated, the Spatial Monster that was going to be Summoned is still banished instead of being sent to the GY.
 • If a Spatial Monster becomes an Xyz Material and it is detached, it is banished instead of going to the GY.
 • Even if banishing becomes impossible by a means such as Imperial Iron Wall, the Spatial Summon is still possible. The Space Materials are usually sent to the GY instead of being banished.
 • If a Spatial Monster would be banished face-down from the Extra Deck, e.g. to activate Pot of Extravagance, then it does not change Space.

Trivia

 • The pink color of the Spatial monsters is brighter than the pink color on a Trap Card.
 • Spatial sounds similar to Special, and was therefore chosen for the new card type name.
