|Key Cards:||Overturn Deity - Cyclone Feather|
|Appears In:||Yu-Gi-Oh! Xross|
Saito has spiked, messy, black & green hair, and his eyes are gray. He is mentioned to have a "perpetual bedhead", even when he tries to fix it. He is relatively tall as well, with an average build.
Initially, when he first arrived in Desteria, he wore a basic white hoodie with a six-colored star on the back, with jeans and running shoes. Before beginning the journey, he obtains native clothes, which consist of a long black coat that goes down to his ankles, with the same star logo that was on his hoodie. In fact, it is a patch sewn in from his old hoodie. He dons a pair of dark pants and rugged boots. He noticeably has quite a few badges on his jacket along with a few straps attached as well.
As a continuing trend with Yu-Gi-Oh! protagonists, Saito's name contains the syllable "Yu", though it is found in his last name. The name, "Yukimura", is not only a reference to former protagonist Rei Yukimura, hinting at some sort of relation, but also, much to Saito's chagrin, a reference to Yukimura Sanada of the Sengoku period.
(In the Works)
Saito awakens in the land of Desteria, aware of, and distraught at the fact that he had been "Isekai'd", as he puts it. He is quickly retrieved by the Farrin Guards, and taken back to the kingdom.
Saito uses what he describes as an "Overturn" Deck, consisting of monsters of all 6 standard Attributes. His primary strategies revolve around taking advantage of not only having matching Attribute monsters, but also the secondary effects of having monsters of different Attributes gathered together. In addition, his strategies often shine when he has gathered monster of all 6 Attributes and when he is in a losing position. Like most other characters in Xross, he also makes use of a variety Union monsters. His ace monster is known to be "Overturn Deity - Cyclone Feather".
- Saito is the first Yu-Gi-Oh! protagonist to use a Fairy monster as his ace card.
- Saito, along with Nobuhito Kadoya and Hideki Ogata were known at their university as the "Sengoku Trio", primarily due to Nobuhito's insistence at referring to Saito and Hideki as "Sanada" and "Monkey" respectively. This is in reference to "Yukimura Sanada" and "Hideoyshi Toyotomi" along with "Nobunaga Oda", three key figures in the Sengoku period.
