Dark Bind Materials are monsters that are used for the Special Summon of a Dark Bind Monster. They must be face-up on the field, even if the Dark Bind Monster does not specify. They are listed in the first line of a Dark Bind Monster's text. Unlike Link Monsters that can be used as multiple Link Materials equal to its Link Rating, a Dark Bind Monster is usually reserved as a base material, should the player attempt to Summon a Dark Bind Monster of a greater Dark Bind Rating.
